What trip to see FC St Pauli doesn’t start off with a trip to the Jolly Roger?
The match was great. Stylish choreo to start and a 90′ score to gives the win. Back to the Jolly Roger and drinking until the early hours.
Actually covered Minatur Wunderland this time. An indoor, incredibly detailed model. Bargain to €13!
Time to head to the Hamburger DOM for this trips slightly different German food. This time it was potato fritters with apple sauce….. Time for a quick walk round the Alster lakes and a walk through St Pauli to do some graffiti spotting. Then home. A real weekend as always.
Another weekend, another visit to Hamburg for the football. First up, need to visit the Hamburger Dom for sausage and beer. Quick look at the ground just to get a feel for tomorrow.
We had a look around Hamburg and then got ready for the FC St Pauli vs Heidenheim match on the Saturday afternoon.
Sadly we lost. 0-3. And we were rubbish. Puts us down second from bottom in Bundesliga 2. Oh, well, never mind. Time for more beer. Went into the Jolly Roger for a beer or two.
Next day we just did a bit of sightseeing around Hamburg. The river and roundabouts. Had a good weekend with me mate. Next time round, we’ll take the partners along. My missus can do football so we’ll take them to the match.
So me and a mate have our trip to Hamburg booked again. Out on Friday, FC St Pauli at home to Heidenheim on Saturday, a day chilling in Hamburg on Sunday and back home. It’s going to be great.
Once again, Justus at the Fanladen sorted us out with tickets so we’re all geared up. Last trip we to our partners so this time it’s a boys trip. Still working out what to do. We’re just trying not to spend *all* the time in bards drinking Astra beer.
Still, the Hamburger Dom is back in town so that will prove a good starting place for food, beer and entertainment.
Off to Hamburg with friends for my first FC St Pauli match. We arrived on the Friday which luckily happened to be the first night of the Hamburger Dom. A massive funfair with loads of rides, food and beer. Picked up the ticket from the Fanladen (massive thanks to Justus) and popped into the Jolly Roger for a quick beer or five.
Hamburger Dom and some beer, wurst and a good wander round. Finished up with some beers back at the hotel. Up early on the Saturday morning and off to the match. I have to say the atmosphere was fantastic. Standing tickets in the SüdKürve and with a packed crowd. The Ultras were up on the fence and the chanting was amazing.
Loved the whole thing. Had some quick beers on the Reeperbahn and back to the hotel to meet with the missus and it was off to the Opera. La Traviata at the Hamburgische Staatsoper. A very strange combination of cultures…..
Off to Hamburg in two weeks. Me, the missus and another couple. Got tickets sorted to the St Pauli match via the Fanladen. Going to be awesome. First German football match and wearing our West Bromwich Albion shirts.
Weirdly, also going to be traipsing the Reeperbahn *and* going to the opera. Covering all aspects of culture both high and low. I’m impressed. Will also drink lots of beer. Astra beer is the local brew so will drink that!
