I’ve managed to start running again. Only slowly, and building up but getting there. New shoes as old ones had no cushioning left, new semi-solid arch supports and a slow progression of distance. The knees do t hurt (too much) yet so it seems to be going well.
Only problem is I think longboarding does seem to put pressure on my one knee. After doing a bit of skating my running does seem to hurt my right knee a bit more. Struggling to deal with it and I might just figure that 50+ knees just hurt. I may need to just man up and handle it.
